How to change the encryption mode of the root Beacon

In the Nokia WiFi Beacons you can change the encryption mode in the Web GUI.

  1. Open a web browser while connected to the Nokia WiFi network and go to the WebGUI http://www.webgui.nokiawifi.com (you can also use the default gateway IP address: http://192.168.18.1. )
  2. Login with the user name and password that is on the sticker of your root device.
  3. Select Network
  4. Go to Wireless 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, there you will see the option to change the encryption mode.

WPA3 is the default setting for Wi-Fi 7. If you are using a Wi-Fi 7 Beacon and experiencing connectivity issues with older devices (such as smartphones, laptops, printers and IoT devices that do not support WPA3), you can change the encryption mode to WPA/WPA2. For better security, it is recommended to setup a separate network (SSID) for these legacy devices.
